6 North Georgia Wedding Venues We Love for Smaller Celebrations
North Georgia has some pretty incredible places to get married. Mountain overlooks, little chapels tucked into the woods, gardens full of flowers, vineyards, and plenty of places that make you want to stop and take it all in.
But finding the right venue for a smaller wedding? That can be a little trickier.
Maybe you're inviting 20 of your favorite people. Maybe it's closer to 50. Maybe you want a quiet ceremony followed by dinner with your families, or maybe you want a full wedding reception where everyone ends up on the dance floor.
There really isn't one right way to do it.
We're Jessica and Cory, a husband-and-wife photography team who photograph weddings and elopements all over North Georgia. We've been lucky enough to photograph weddings at four of the venues on this list, and we've included a couple more that we think are worth looking into.
So, if you're searching for small wedding venues in North Georgia, here are six places we'd put on your radar.
1. Four Oaks Manor | Buford, Georgia
For the couple who loves a garden wedding with a little historic charm.
Four Oaks Manor is one of those places that feels completely different once you step onto the property.
Tucked away in Buford, Georgia, this venue has a historic farmhouse, winding garden paths, and beautiful outdoor spaces surrounded by trees and flowers. It feels like a little garden getaway without having to drive hours into the mountains.
We've photographed weddings here, and one of our favorite things about Four Oaks is how much the gardens change throughout the year. Spring brings all sorts of color, while the warmer months are full of greenery.
And if you've been dreaming of an outdoor ceremony followed by a reception under the lights? This is definitely one to check out.
Four Oaks Manor can accommodate up to 150 guests, so it's not exclusively a small wedding venue. But the garden setting makes it worth considering for couples who want a more intimate celebration without giving up the traditional wedding experience.
A few things to know: Four Oaks Manor has outdoor ceremony and reception spaces, getting-ready areas inside the farmhouse, and in-house catering, which is required for weddings. Be sure to ask about the rain plan and how the reception layout would work for your guest count.

2. Juliette Chapel | Dahlonega, Georgia
For the couple who wants a little chapel in the woods and a wedding that feels completely their own.
If you love the idea of getting married surrounded by trees but aren't quite sold on having an outdoor ceremony, Juliette Chapel might be right up your alley.
Located in Dahlonega, Georgia, this little chapel has big windows overlooking the surrounding woods, letting you enjoy the scenery from inside.
And honestly, we love that. Especially when you consider how unpredictable North Georgia weather can be.
The venue also has a separate reception building and outdoor patio, so you can go from your ceremony to dinner and dancing without having to move everyone to another location.
Juliette Chapel accommodates up to 70 seated guests, making it one of the venues on this list that's actually designed with smaller weddings in mind.
Another great thing? You have the freedom to bring in your own vendors. That means you can choose the people, food, music, and details that make the most sense for your day.
We could see this being such a good fit for couples who want something simple and personal, but still want to gather everyone together for a reception afterward.
A few things to know: The chapel and reception building each seat up to 70 guests. It's a DIY-style venue, so you'll be responsible for arranging your own vendors and coordinating the day. The Limelight Inn next door also offers nearby lodging for guests.
3. 5 Star Lodge & Stables | Morganton, Georgia
For the couple who wants to turn their wedding into a whole weekend in the mountains.
Okay, if spending an entire weekend in the mountains with your favorite people sounds like your kind of wedding, you need to check this one out.
5 Star Lodge & Stables is located in Morganton, just outside Blue Ridge, and sits on a beautiful property with mountain views, a large lodge, and an outdoor wedding pavilion.
We've photographed a few weddings here, and the setting is a big part of what makes it special.
But what we really love about a place like this is the opportunity to make your wedding more than just a few hours together.
Think about it. You can spend time with your people before the wedding, get ready without having to drive between locations, celebrate all day, and wake up the next morning still surrounded by the mountains.
There's something pretty great about that.
The Moose Lodge Pavilion accommodates larger wedding celebrations, but the property could be a wonderful fit for a smaller wedding where you want everyone to feel like they're part of a weekend getaway.
A few things to know: The lodge offers on-site accommodations for up to 24 overnight guests, and the pavilion can host weddings with larger guest counts. Ask about rental minimums, event insurance, and what's included in the wedding package.

4. Oakleaf Cottage | Trenton, Georgia
For the couple who loves the woods, the mountains, and a wedding day surrounded by nature.
We have such a soft spot for wedding venues surrounded by trees, and Oakleaf Cottage is a pretty dang good one.
Located on Lookout Mountain near Cloudland Canyon State Park, Oakleaf Cottage is tucked into the woods in Trenton, Georgia.
We've photographed a wedding here, and it's one of those venues where the natural surroundings do so much of the work for you.
The trees, the wooded ceremony setting, the mountain atmosphere. It all makes for a really beautiful place to get married.
But Oakleaf isn't just an outdoor ceremony spot. The venue also has a reception barn, getting-ready accommodations, and plenty of opportunities to spend time with your guests throughout the day.
And if you're worried about rain, the indoor reception space gives you another option if the weather changes.
Because yes, we absolutely love rainy weddings. But we also love having a plan that doesn't involve everybody scrambling at the last minute.
Oakleaf Cottage can host weddings of up to 125 guests, but we especially love it for couples who want their wedding to feel connected to the outdoors.
A few things to know: Oakleaf has a cottage with overnight accommodations, wooded outdoor spaces, and an indoor reception barn. The venue has specific policies for caterers, vendors, and younger children, so be sure to review those before booking.
5. Stonewall Creek Vineyards | Tiger, Georgia
For the couple who loves good wine, beautiful scenery, and the idea of celebrating around a table with their favorite people.
A vineyard wedding in North Georgia? Yep, that's absolutely an option.
Stonewall Creek Vineyards is located in Tiger, Georgia, and offers a setting that's a little different from the wooded and mountain venues we've talked about so far.
Picture rows of grapevines, rolling scenery, and a wedding day that feels more like a gathering of all your favorite people than a huge formal event.
Their event space, The Overlook, is designed specifically for gatherings of up to 50 guests.
And that's exactly why we wanted to include it.
While some venues are built for much larger weddings and simply allow smaller guest counts, Stonewall Creek has a space intended for intimate celebrations.
We love the idea of exchanging vows with the vineyard as your backdrop, followed by dinner where everyone actually has time to catch up, laugh, and enjoy being together.
If your dream wedding is part ceremony, part dinner party, and a whole lot of celebrating with your people, we'd definitely take a look.
A few things to know: The Overlook hosts events for up to 50 guests. Ask about ceremony options, catering arrangements, and which services are included in the event rental.

6. Vezalay Mountain Venue | Dahlonega, Georgia
For the couple who wants those incredible mountain views without giving up a beautiful indoor celebration space.
If mountain views are high on your wedding wish list, Vezalay Mountain Venue is one we'd definitely recommend checking out.
Located in Dahlonega, Georgia, Vezalay has some pretty incredible views of the North Georgia mountains. And one of our favorite things about this venue is that you don't have to sacrifice those views to have a more traditional wedding experience.
We've photographed a wedding here, and there's a lot to love about the way the property is set up.
There's an outdoor ceremony space overlooking the mountains, a bright and modern reception building, and an indoor chapel with huge windows that still lets you enjoy the surrounding scenery.
And can we talk about having an actual indoor ceremony option that doesn't require completely rearranging your reception space if it rains? We LOVE that.
Because as much as we're fans of embracing whatever weather your wedding day brings, it's also pretty great to know you have a beautiful backup option.
Vezalay can accommodate weddings of up to 200 guests, making it one of the larger venues on this list. But we still think it's worth considering for couples planning a smaller celebration, especially if mountain views and having everything in one location are important to you.
It's a great option if you love the outdoors but also want a comfortable space to eat, dance, and celebrate with everyone you love.
A few things to know: Vezalay offers indoor and outdoor ceremony locations, a climate-controlled reception space, and a getting-ready cottage. Since its wedding packages aren't based solely on guest count, we'd recommend asking which options make the most sense for a smaller celebration.

A Few Things to Consider When Choosing a Small Wedding Venue in North Georgia
Before you fall completely in love with a venue, there are a few things we think are worth considering.
Does the space make sense for your guest count?
Just because a venue can accommodate 150 people doesn't mean it can't be beautiful for 30. But we'd definitely ask how they typically set up smaller weddings.
A space that feels great with 100 guests might feel a little different with 20.
Think about where everyone will sit, how dinner will work, and whether you'll have enough room for the dance floor if that's part of your plans.
What's the rain plan?
Listen, we LOVE a rainy wedding day.
Cloudy skies, a little drizzle, wind blowing through your hair. We're big fans of embracing the weather instead of spending your entire day worrying about it.
But there's a difference between embracing the rain and not having a backup plan.
Ask your venue what happens if the weather isn't cooperating. Where will the ceremony move? Will the reception space need to be rearranged? Will your guests be comfortable?
And most importantly, make sure you actually like the backup option.
Can you make the day your own?
Maybe you want your dog to walk down the aisle. Maybe you want to skip a few traditions. Maybe you're planning a private first look, dinner with your families, and a reception where everyone stays on the dance floor until the very last song.
We love seeing all the little things that make a wedding feel like the people getting married.
Just make sure the venue you choose gives you the flexibility to include the things that matter to you.
Will you have time to actually enjoy your wedding?
A smaller wedding doesn't automatically mean a less busy day.
If you're getting ready in one location, having your ceremony somewhere else, and driving to a third spot for the reception, things can get hectic pretty quickly.
Think about how much time you'll have at the venue, how you'll move between locations, and how you want to spend your day.
Because your wedding shouldn't feel like you're racing from one thing to the next.
Your Wedding Doesn't Have to Look Like Anyone Else's
One of our absolute favorite things about photographing weddings is getting to see how different every couple is.
We've photographed weddings tucked into the mountains, garden ceremonies surrounded by flowers, emotional moments with family, and receptions where nobody wanted to leave the dance floor.
Some couples want a quiet, intimate day with just a handful of people. Others want all their favorite people in one place, celebrating until the music stops.
And we love both.
What matters most is finding a place that feels right for you, where you can celebrate the way you actually want to.
Whether that's a little chapel in the woods, a vineyard dinner, or a mountain venue with a packed dance floor, North Georgia has some pretty wonderful options.
