Colorful Backyard Wedding turned Pool Party | Kennesaw, GA | Murielle + Chris

Murielle and Chris had a first look on the porch, said their vows in a backyard full of colorful flowers and bubbles, and celebrated with cake smashing, a live band, and a pool party.

So yes, we had a very good time.

These two are the kind of people you meet and immediately want to hang out with. Their wedding gave us plenty of reasons to stick around.

Getting ready, kiddos, and a first look on the porch

The morning had a little bit of everything happening at once. Kids needed wrangling, the backyard needed its last finishing touches, and vows were still being written while Murielle had her hair done.

There was a lot going on, and we loved photographing it. Those moments are part of the story, too—the people helping, the last-minute jobs, and getting ready with everyday life still happening around you.

Then came their first look.

Murielle ran right in front of Chris to show him her veil and dress. We loved how excited she was to let him see everything. Afterward, they shared their vows together on the porch before joining everyone for the ceremony.

A colorful backyard ceremony

Their backyard was filled with vibrant flowers that felt right at home with Murielle and Chris’s personalities.

With their people gathered around them, kids napping in corners of the yard, and bubbles floating through the air, they said “I do.”

There was so much to photograph in that little space. The flowers, the reactions, the bubbles, and all the small things happening around the ceremony made it feel like their day from every angle.

Wedding photos, cake smashing, and a pool party

After the ceremony, we moved around the yard for photos with Murielle and Chris, their family, and their friends.

And then the celebration kept going.

There was cake smashing. There was live music. There was pool fun. This small backyard wedding had plenty happening, and we were very happy to be in the middle of it with our cameras.

The night ended with a dance circle in front of the band, sparklers, and Murielle and Chris dancing their hearts out.

A pretty excellent way to finish a wedding day.

Planning a backyard wedding in Georgia?

One of our favorite things about Murielle and Chris’s wedding was how comfortable they seemed being themselves. From the first look on the porch to the pool party afterward, there was plenty of room for their personalities to show up.
